"Gotcha Day" and A New Beginning. Part 2

Riding on the bus back to the hotel, I'm asleep in mommy's arms.
It's about 4:30 pm back at the hotel and I haven't eaten since this morning but I'm kinda stressed so I won't take anything. Bear looks on.
Mommy talks to me. I'm getting attached to her face and voice. I'm asleep on the first night with my new parents. I'll probably forget all this but its been a memorable day for them and all the new parents. (I woke up at 4:30 am and drank a whole bottle of formula!)

"Gotcha Day" and A New Beginning. Part I

When my parents first got to the office, there were 3 babies in walkers. First they said we were from Nanchuan, then they said not, then they said yes. Meanwhile my parents could not interact with me until I was officially handed over by the director. That's me with my back towards you.
That's me moments after I was placed in my new mommy's arms. I didn't know what was going on. Daddy was even stranger. That's me, my new parents, the orphanage director, and her husband. My parents talked to them briefly, thanked them for caring for me, and they were gone. I fell asleep from crying so much. Daddy said the orphanage director had tears too.

Mom and Dad are finally going to China to get me!!!

(7/28/06) About to begin the journey to be together...
My parents flew to Beijing via Narita, Japan. The fog was heavy in Beijing and they were almost sent back to Japan. As they flew over China that evening, there was a lightning storm in the clouds.
The next morning, all the parents met to fly together to Chongqing.
Finally my parents arrive in Chongqing. That will be my crib in the corner.
(7/30/06) All the adults had one last dinner together as not-yet parents. The two best adoption guides-facilitators in China are Cici (fifth from the left) and Ming Ming (farthest on right).
(7/31/06) The next morning we make sure all the paperwork is in order. That afernoon my parents will meet me for the first time...

How it all began...

Daddy found this pic on the internet. That's me in the red pants not looking at the camera.

My parents began the application process back in September 2005 with the Hawaii International Child adoption agency (meanwhile I was being born on September 2 ). After much paperwork, clearances, interviews, the dossier was sent to China in November. Daddy and Mommy waited and waited to hear from China, even taking a trip to Japan in March. I was living my life at the orphanage in Nanchuan. Finally, on May 25th the agency got the assignment and my pictures. On that day my mother was flying to Hong Kong but that's another story. When she came back, my parents had 2 months to get ready for me...

So without further ado, here I am today!

Hello Everyone!!! I'm Emi...

One of the first pics of me and the first time my parents saw me. Here I am with my new parents. Daddy says its been quite a journey getting here and my mommy is very tired. I'm getting used to them too. We are making this blog to share our story and I hope to meet all of you soon.
